ATPU Probes Explosive Object In Kariobangi

The incident occurred when a client approached a welder at the said location and asked him to cut a round, metallic object.

The DCI’s Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) is investigating an incident in which an unidentified object exploded in the Light Industries area of Kariobangi North on Wednesday evening, injuring three men. 

According to reports, the incident occurred when a client approached a welder at the said location and asked him to cut a round, metallic object.

The welder complied with the customer’s request, and the object exploded, seriously injuring one man in the legs and eyes. The remaining victims were only slightly hurt.

According to Kariobangi police, the victims were immediately taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment, where two of them were discharged and the other was admitted for specialized care.

Bomb experts and ATPU officers have since visited the scene as the investigation into the incident continues.
