The Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) has issued a public notice urging landowners in several sub-counties, including Kasarani and Embakasi, to register their land titles in the county’s Land Rates Database. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the county administration to update and streamline property records, ensure accurate billing of land rates, and enhance public service delivery.
In the notice released today, Acting County Secretary and County Head of Public Service, Godfrey Akumali, called on landowners whose properties have not yet been captured in the database to take immediate action and have their properties enrolled.
The targeted areas include Kasarani, Embakasi East, Embakasi West, Embakasi Central, and Embakasi North, with the county government establishing specific submission points to facilitate a smooth registration process.
Submission Points by Ward:
- Ruai and Njiru Wards: Title deed holders should present their documents at the Ruai Customer Care Centre (CCC) located next to the Njiru Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) offices, adjacent to the Embakasi Ranching Company offices.
- Mwiki, Kasarani, and Clay City Wards: Residents in these areas are to visit the Kasarani Sub-County offices, situated within the Kasarani DCC compound.

Required Documents:
Residents are advised to present the following documents during submission:
- A copy of the land title deed with clearly indicated owner contact information.
- A copy of the national identity card.
- A Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Personal Identification Number (PIN) Certificate.
- A recent passport-sized photograph.
Services Available at Submission Points:
Akumali emphasized that the registration exercise will be supported by county officials stationed at the designated centers to offer a range of services. These include:
- Land valuation
- Assessment and registration for land rates
- Collection of customer feedback on rate policies and the payment process
“During this period, relevant county officers will be stationed at the listed locations to offer land valuation, rates, and other related services, including collecting customer views on the county rates and the payment process,” said Akumali in the public notice.
He further encouraged landowners to open land rates payment accounts during this exercise to streamline future transactions with the county and ensure compliance with Nairobi’s land management policies.
Moving Toward Transparent Land Administration
This registration drive reflects the Nairobi City County Government’s ongoing commitment to improve transparency and efficiency in land administration. The updated database will not only aid in fair and effective billing of land rates but also help safeguard property ownership rights and prevent land disputes.
Landowners in the affected areas are encouraged to take full advantage of this decentralized service to avoid penalties or complications related to unregistered properties in future county transactions.
