Kasarani: Police Imposter Arrested For Extorting Bribes From Business Owners

Police in Kasarani, Nairobi, have arrested a man who is accused of impersonating a detective in order to extort bribes from unsuspecting businesses in the area.

James Obwangi Nyakundi, 33, is accused of impersonating an OC Crime Detective from Kasarani Police Station.

The majority of his victims are said to be bar owners and wine and spirits operators.

While confirming the incident, Kasarani Sub County Police Commander Anthony Mbogo stated that they are investigating Nyakundi, who was caught in the act, and that there have been too many reported complaints of the same.

Nyakundi is being held in police custody pending his arraignment.
