Kayole Starlets have reinforced their squad ahead of the second leg of the Kenya Women Premier League season with the signing of three players from the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars team.
The trio—goalkeeper Sonia Wambui, striker Calta Nasambu, and midfielder Naomi Nanjala—join the Nairobi-based club after standout performances at the grassroots level. They previously featured for Barcelona Ladies SC of Laikipia, a side competing in the National Super League.

Their development has been closely tied to the Safaricom Chapa Dimba programme, a national youth tournament that continues to nurture emerging football talent.
The three were part of the All-Stars squad that travelled to Huesca, Spain, last September for a training bootcamp, gaining valuable international exposure.
Nanjala described the move as a significant step in her career, noting that playing in the top tier has always been her ambition.
“I am excited to join Kayole Starlets and contribute to the team’s success in the remaining matches. Chapa Dimba has played a big role in my journey,” she said.
Wambui also hailed the tournament for opening doors to young players, expressing her readiness to make an impact at her new club.
The new signings add to a growing number of Chapa Dimba graduates within the squad, including Eunice “Bobi” Nabwoba and Praxedes Shivikhwa, who both featured for Wiyeta Girls.
Nabwoba previously played for Amus College in Uganda before joining Starlets.
Head coach Joshua Sakwa welcomed the additions, emphasizing the importance of grassroots competitions in talent development.
“These tournaments help identify and nurture quality players. We believe the new signings will strengthen our squad as we aim for a strong finish,” he said.
Kayole Starlets are currently seventh in the standings and are targeting a top-three finish as the season progresses.
