KCSE 2025 Results to Be Released on Friday, January 9

The Ministry of Education is set to release the results of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) tomorrow on Friday, January 9.

According to Ministry of Education officials, Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba will announce the results in Eldoret at 9:30am.

The KCSE examinations concluded on November 21, 2025, after five weeks of testing that began on October 21.

A total of 996,000 candidates took part in the examinations, which determine placement into universities, colleges, and other post-secondary institutions.

Speaking during the Omogusii Cultural Festival held at Kenyoro School Groups in North Mugirango, CS Ogamba reaffirmed that the release of KCSE results would follow the traditional January timeline.

“The KCSE examination results will be released within the next two weeks. Traditionally, the KCSE examinations are normally announced in January, and we are keeping it to that tradition,” Ogamba said.

The announcement brings clarity to candidates and parents who have been eagerly awaiting confirmation of the release date.

Ahead of the official announcement, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) activated its online results portal earlier this week.

However, the portal indicates that results will only be accessible after the Ministry of Education formally releases them, meaning candidates and parents will be able to check results once the CS makes the announcement on Friday.

KCSE results play a critical role in determining students’ transition to higher education, including university admissions, technical training, and other career pathways.
