KDF to be Deployed in Nakuru to Oversee Construction of Two Stadiums and Hospital

    The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will oversee the construction and completion of two stadiums and a hospital project in Nakuru County.

    KDF made the announcement on Wednesday, July 16, following a meeting between Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya and Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika.

    “The Cabinet Secretary and the Governor discussed priority Government infrastructure projects to be implemented by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) through Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in Nakuru County,” the statement read.

    The projects include the long-stalled Afraha Stadium, which is now set for completion under the supervision of KDF, and the construction of the Olenguruone Stadium.

    Also high on the agenda is the finalization of the Trauma Centre at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital that has remained incomplete since 2012.

    “The Government has prioritized the completion of Afraha Stadium, construction of Olenguruone Stadium and finalization of the Trauma Centre at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital that has been pending since 2012,” the statement added.
