KeMRI Clears the Air on Sickle Cell Study

According the top leadership, KeMRI stated that certain issues raised in the post have caused undue anxiety to members of the public as they have been overstated & are not entirely factual.

The Kenya Medical Research Institute has been provoked by a circulating message on one of their on-going sickle cell disease study.

Further, the management states that KeMRI is indeed carrying out an approved sickle cell disease study in several counties in Kenya.

They also say that the study is designed to evaluate effectiveness of an investigational medicine for the treatment of leg ulcers in patients with sickle cell anemia.

Further, KeMRI stated that the telephone number on the social media post does not belong to KeMRI site or any of their staff members.
