KenHA Announces Temporary Closure Of Mombasa Road Around Imara Mall

    The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a partial closure of Mombasa Road which is set to affect traffic on the busy highway.

    KeNHA in a statement on Friday, May 31, 2024, announced the closure which is set to affect both Nairobi and Mombasa bound lanes of the Road at the Imaara Mall section.

    “The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wish to notify the Public that there will be a partial closure of Mombasa (A8) Road, Nairobi bound lanes at Imaara Mall,” read part of the statement.

    According to the Authority, the closure is scheduled to happen from Friday May 31, 2024, at 8:00PM to Monday June 3, 2024, at 06:00 AM.

    At the same time, KeNHA noted that the closure of the same road section on the Mombasa bound lanes will happen on Friday June 7, 2024, from 8:00 pm to Monday June 10, 2024, at 06:00 pm.

    The Authority revealed that the planned closure will allow the installation of culverts and reinstatement works at these sections.

    Further motorists were advised to follow traffic regulations listed by KeNHA to ensure seamless flow of traffic despite the scheduled closure.

    All motorists using the road at the said time were first advised to use the two through lanes and approach the affected sections with caution.

    Also, the authority urged all motorists to follow the traffic signs and guidance as directed by the traffic Police and Marshalls.

    “The Authority remains committed to ensure seamless connectivity to facilitate safe passage for economic prosperity,” added KeNHA.
