The visit began with a tree planting exercise at the region’s tree nursery, where Eng. Fukwo lauded ongoing environmental initiatives. The nursery has so far nurtured over 200,000 seedlings, while the use of vetiver grass for erosion control has been credited with enhancing ecological conservation along road corridors.

Eng. Fukwo later inspected key road sections, including the Iten–Nyaru (B77), Kapcherop–Moiben (B122), Kachibora–Kapcherop (B15), and the Maili Tisa–Kitale section of the A8. He commended the region’s maintenance teams for their consistent pothole patching works, installation of standardized humps, prioritization of proper drainage, and innovative theft-control strategies.

The Director emphasized that maintaining a pothole-free and resilient road network remains central to KeNHA’s mandate of ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable highways. He further underscored the Authority’s commitment to balancing infrastructure growth with environmental stewardship, noting that such measures strengthen community resilience and road safety.

The North Rift inspection forms part of KeNHA’s wider strategy to uphold high maintenance standards across the national road network while supporting environmental conservation.
