The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) engineers have pitched tent at the Multi-billion shilling Mau Mau road project.
KeNHA Chairman Eng. Wangai Ndirangu accompanied by the project implementation team conductED an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Mau Mau Road Lot 3 (Nyeri County) to fast track construction works.
The Road projects starts at Kairo and terminates at Njen’gu.
The Mau Mau roads project will see the government construct 540 Kilometers of roads to connect Kenya’s rich farmlands in the the counties of Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri and Nyandarua.
The highway will be implemented at a cost of Sh 30 billion, with construction scheduled to take three years.
Githunguri Member of Parliament, Hon. Gabriel Kago ‘Walydia’ said the road will benefit farmers who have been incurring huge losses from bad roads.
“This road will open up areas where agriculture is being practiced. Once this road is done, food will be able to reach the market in time, reducing losses incurred by farmers” Said Hon. Kago.
