The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) through the Axle Load Department convened station commanders for a sensitization exercise on weighbridge enforcement.
In a statement, KeNHA said that the Officer Commanding (OCs) and their deputies were drawn from all Axle Load Enforcement Unit (ALEHU) weighbridges and Base Centres in order to undergo further sensitization and come up with solutions to the challenges that they encounter while conducting enforcement.
“During the exercise, the ALEHU officers also received feedback from the Judiciary and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on Axle Load cases which go to court,” the statement read in part.
According to KeNHA, this exercise reaffirms the Authority’s commitment towards maintaining sustainable roads by ensuring enforcement and compliance to curb overloading.
