KeNHA to Close Section of Mombasa Road for Four Hours on Sunday for World AIDS Day Marathon

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a planned closure of a section of Mombasa Road (A8) this Sunday, November 30, to facilitate a 21-kilometer half-marathon commemorating World AIDS Day.

The closure will affect the stretch between the Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and the Museum Hill Interchange from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Motorists are advised to expect significant traffic disruptions and are urged to follow the proposed traffic management plan, cooperating with police and traffic marshals on site. The marathon, themed “One Race, One Goal: Ending AIDS among Adolescents and Young People,” is part of Kenya’s broader commitment to ending AIDS by 2030.

In addition to the half-marathon, the event will feature several other races, including a family fun run, kids’ race, and a corporate race. Those interested in participating can register online through the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) website.
