Kenya has registered 76 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, raising the total number of cases in the country to 255,164.
In a press conference, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe revealed that this was from a sample size of 4,853.
Kenya’s positivity rate now stands at 1.6% with the total number of tests at 2,839,918.
No deaths have been reported over the same period, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 5,335 people.
The total number of recoveries stands at 248,350 people.
According to Kagwe, there are currently 179 patients at various hospitals around the country. Another 810 people are enrolled in the home-based care program.
There are seven patients in the ICU, six of them are on ventilatory support. In addition, 50 patients in general wards are on supplemental oxygen.
32 patients have recovered from the sickness, with 23 coming through the Homebased Care program and nine from other health facilities.
