Kenya Airports Authority Employees to Join KQ Pilots on Strike

According to a statement issued by the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) on November 5, secretary general Moss Ndiema, the strike will begin at 2 p.m.

Kenya Airports Authority(KAA) workers have gone on strike over payment issues, complicating the maths for President William Ruto government.

According to a statement issued by the Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) on November 5, secretary general Moss Ndiema, the strike will begin at 2 p.m.

He stated that a court order on August 15, 2022 gave KAA workers permission to strike due to a stalemate over the failure to reach a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

“In accordance with the said court order, this is to instruct and advise all unionisable employees at KAA to begin the strike at 2pm today, November 5th, 2022, in accordance with the court order.”

Ndiema claimed that management had made no effort to complete the CBA.
