Kenya Airways Leads Gainers as Safaricom PLC Tops Trading Activity at NSE

Kenya Airways emerged among the top gainers at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, closing at Ksh6.42 after a 7.00 percent increase in share price.

Africa Mega Agricorp followed with a 4.94 percent gain to Ksh116.75, while Express Kenya rose by 3.98 percent to Ksh7.32, Standard Group gained 3.97 percent to Ksh6.28, and Liberty Kenya Holdings climbed 3.78 percent to Ksh9.88.

On the losing side, ScanGroup recorded the steepest decline, shedding 3.88 percent to close at Ksh2.23, followed by Sameer Africa which dropped 3.70 percent to Ksh8.84, TPS Eastern Africa Serena declined 3.11 percent to Ksh15.60, CIC Insurance fell 2.41 percent to Ksh4.45, while Centum Investment Company slipped 1.77 percent to Ksh13.90.

In terms of market activity, Safaricom led in trading volumes with 20,967,747 shares exchanged, significantly outpacing other counters.

KenGen followed with 1,327,950 shares traded, while Absa Bank Kenya recorded 1,181,338 shares, Equity Group Holdings saw 1,007,398 shares change hands, and Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation also featured among the most actively traded stocks.

The session reflected mixed performance across the market, with notable gains in select counters even as others recorded declines, while Safaricom maintained its dominance in trading activity.
