Kenya cases hit 32,557 as 225 more people recover from COVID-19

Kenya has confirmed the recovery of 225 patients who have since been discharged from hospital bringing the total recoveries to 18,895.

In his regular press briefing, Health CAS Rashid Aman attributed the Home-Based care program, which continues to account for the recovery of nearly 70 percent of coronavirus patients.

In the last 24 hours, Kenya confirmed 193 more positive cases, bringing the total number of cases in Kenya to 32,557.

The cases were confirmed from 3,381 samples, which had been tested over the same period, bringing total samples tested so far to 425,364.

According to distributions in counties, Nairobi (78), Embu (24), Garissa (21), kiambu (18), Nyeri (13), Mombasa (10), Samburu (6), Murang’a (5), Lamu (4), Kakamega (3), Trans Nzoia and Kilifi reported (2) cases each. Machakos, Isiolo, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Nyandarua, Uasin Gichu, and Nakuru each had (1)case.

137 of the new cases are male, and 56 are female, with the youngest case being a 2-month-old infant.

However, 6 more patients succumbed to the coronavirus, further pushing Kenya’s total fatalities to 554.
