Kenya, Commonwealth Secretariat to Co-host Kenya Innovation Week

The schedule for the Kenya Innovation Week Commonwealth Edition was released today by the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) at the Sarova Panafric Hotel.

The announcement kicks off preparations for the event, which will take place from November 27 to December 1 at the Kenya College of Insurance.

Musalia Mudavadi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, noted in his speech the progress made by the Agency in fostering innovation and development.

In order to actively participate in the event, he urged other governments, organisations, institutions, and people who share his vision and enthusiasm to work with the Kenya National Innovation Agency.

The roadmap covers the objectives, various summits that will be held, and the results that are anticipated for this year’s event.

“We have carefully crafted a series of thematic summits and side events that will bring together experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to foster collaboration, exchange ideas, and explore innovative solutions to our pressing challenges,”  said the Prime CS.

Key members of the innovation ecosystem came together for the launch, which was co-sponsored by the Commonwealth secretariat and the British Council, with the aim of celebrating the successes of the previous Kenya Innovation Week and discussing the opportunities that the Kenya Innovation Week Commonwealth Edition presents.

The Commonwealth Secretariat will host the Commonwealth Innovation Challenge prior to innovation week. On December 12th, at the Jamhuri Day Celebration, the Kenyan government will also present the Presidential Innovation Challenge and Award.

The top innovations from each of the 56 countries will be displayed in pavilions for each of those nations throughout the course of the week, along with partners and organisations.

The leaders of the KNEIL, or Kenya Network of Entrepreneurial Institutions, were also unveiled. Together with the British Council, the programme is put into action.

Leaders from Universities, Colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centres around Kenya will be able to connect through this network, share best practises, and work together to promote a thriving national entrepreneurial environment.

Ambassadors from Commonwealth countries as well as top government officials, entrepreneurs, academics, and members of the business sector were in attendance.
