COVID-19 positivity rate in Kenya has reached a new high of 34.2 per cent.
This was after 3,297 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours, out of a total of 9,637 people tested.
Kenyans account for 3,065 of the cases, while foreigners account for 232.
Females account for 1,756 of the cases, while males account for 1,541.
The youngest is a one-month-old baby, and the oldest is 101.
At the same time, 236 patients have recovered from the disease. 173 of them were from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 63 were from different health facilities across the country.
According to the Ministry of Health, eight individuals have died as a result of the disease, all of whom were late fatalities discovered through facility record audits in December 2021.
There are currently 835 patients in various health facilities across the country, with 21,692 individuals enrolled in the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 39 patients, 19 of whom are on ventilatory support.
A total of 9,723,787 immunizations had been administered across the country as of December 28th, 2021.
Partially vaccinated people made up 5,704,996, while fully vaccinated people made up 4,018,791.
