Kenya COVID Positivity Drops To 0.2Pc

In the last 24 hours, 9 persons have tested positive for COVID-19, out of a total sample size of 4,020, resulting in a positivity rate of 0.2 percent, according to the Ministry of Health.

According to the Ministry, seven of the cases involve foreigners and two involve Kenyans.

There are eight males and one girl among them, with the youngest being 22 years old and the oldest being 57 years old.

The overall number of confirmed cases is currently 323,281, with 3,470,975 tests conducted so far, according to the Ministry of Health.

The instances were spread over several counties, with four in Mombasa, two in Nakuru, and one each in Kisumu, Laikipia, and Nairobi.

According to the Ministry of Health, one patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and needs to be ventilated.

“There are four more patients on supplementary oxygen, all of whom are in general wards.” The Ministry stated, “There are no patients in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).”

On the other side, 14 individuals in the Home-Based and Isolation Care programs have recovered from the disease, bringing the overall number of recovered patients to 317,581.

The Home-Based Care and Isolation program provided 264,581 of these, while various health facilities across the country provided 53,000.

No deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5,647.
