Kenya emerged victorious at the 2025 East Africa Catchball Cup Championship, held on October 18–19 at the Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere Sports Arena in Kampala, Uganda. The tournament drew large crowds and featured top catchball clubs from across the region.

The Kenyan teams dominated both competition categories the Senior (18–36 years) and Most Senior (37–60 years) clinching the championship titles in both. Umoja Fire Girls triumphed in the Senior Women’s category, while the Eaglets Catchball Club secured victory in the Most Senior category. Both teams competed against strong contenders from Uganda.
The tournament was officially launched by Uganda Catchball President Mr. Bugere Sowed, alongside Mr. Kayiwa Hassan, Africa and Europe representative to the International Catchball Federation Board, and Kenyan officials Faith Karanja and Maxwell Odero.
Speaking after the win, Kenya Catchball Federation President Shadrack Okello extended his gratitude to supporters and sponsors. Special thanks were given to Ms. Sarah Mtalii of Virtuous Women Explorers Club for her commitment to sponsor team uniforms, as well as to law firms Mwenda Njagi Advocates, Danstan Omari & Associates, and advocates John Ogada and Harrison Kinyanjui for pledging future support.

Maxwell Odero, the event’s coordinator, congratulated the winning teams, saying, “Your passion, discipline, and teamwork were on full display. We are incredibly proud of your outstanding performance.”
Uganda’s Mr. Bugere added, “Congratulations to the East Africa Catchball Club Champions 2025. We are proud of your achievement and look forward to the next tournament.”
The winners received trophies and gold medals, officially earning the title of East Africa Catchball Club Champions 2025 in their respective categories.

The success of the tournament was made possible by the dedication of coaches, players, team managers, referees, and federation officials. Their teamwork, professionalism, and spirit of sportsmanship made the Kampala event a true celebration of the sport
