Uzalendo News, a rapidly growing online newspaper in Kenya, has launched a peace campaign to raise awareness of peace during the election season.
The campaign dubbed #YouthNaAmani is a partnership between the youth ministry of the Mary Help of Christians- Don Bosco Shrine and Uzalendo News.
The programme, according to coordinator Connie Kigen, will draw youths from the church membership and other groups interested in promoting peace.
The campaign will also feature a basketball match, alongside other activities within the church compound in an effort to bring together youths for a common goal.
Kenya is set to hold its general elections on 9th August 2022. The Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) set 6th August as the final day for a heated campaign season.
However, Kenyans remain optimistic that the country will have a peaceful election season as the country picks its preferred leader.
Azimio La Umoja candidate Raila Odinga is set to square it out against Kenya Kwanza’s William Ruto, Roots Party leader Prof. George Wajackoyah and Agano Party’s David Mwaure.
