IPOA Goes After Rogue Cops In Rape, Shooting Incidents During August Polls

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is investigating an incident where a police officer allegedly attempted rape in Bungoma county.

The agency that is in charge of oversight of the police, is also investigating incidents of violence where two men and a woman were shot during the ugly confrontation at Eldas, Wajir County.

A shooting and serious injury incident allegedly involved a police officer on 8th August 2022 and a political aspirant’s bodyguard in Uasin Gishu County.

IPOA dispatched a total of two hundred and fifty officers (250) to monitor policing operations during the 2022 General Elections.

The agency further lauded police for the significant drop in cases of brutal police treatment that has characterised previous elections.
