Kenya has been recognized as the world’s friendliest country in the 2025 Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, a distinction that highlights the warmth, hospitality, and community spirit experienced by international visitors.

Beyond its famous safaris, wildlife reserves, and coastal beaches, travellers praised the friendliness of Kenyan guides, hosts, and local communities. Visitors report feeling at home whether exploring Nairobi’s vibrant nightlife, engaging with local markets, or relaxing along the Indian Ocean coastline.

The ranking reflects Kenya’s ability to combine scenic beauty with heartfelt human connections, ensuring that tourists not only enjoy the country’s landscapes but also experience genuine hospitality. This accolade comes amid a growing push by the country to enhance its tourism sector, which contributes significantly to the national economy.

Other countries recognized in the 2025 list include Thailand, Seychelles, Mauritius, Chile, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bhutan, Mexico, and Barbados, with Kenya topping the rankings for its unmatched warmth and friendliness.

Tourism experts say the recognition is likely to further boost tourist arrivals, create more jobs in the hospitality sector, and strengthen Kenya’s image as a welcoming destination for travellers worldwide.
