The National Police Service has dismissed a viral video showing a woman in a social club arguing with other revelers and threatening to arrest them for alleged crimes.
The video, which is circulating on social media, gives the impression that the lady is a police officer who is abusing her power.
According to a press release by NPS, the lady depicted is not a police officer with the NPS, as previously assumed, but rather an enforcement officer with Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
“Any claim made by her being a police inspector is viewed as impersonation of a police officer” read part of the statement.
To be clear, NPS stated that their officers are seconded to NMS to perform specific tasks, including training while adhering to the highest standards of discipline.
