Kenya Police FC have made history after clinching their first-ever Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title, just four years after earning promotion from the National Super League in 2021.
The law enforcers sealed the 2024/25 title in dramatic fashion on Sunday evening, defeating Shabana FC 1-0 in their Round 33 fixture at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The winning goal came in the 75th minute through a well-timed strike by Brian Okoth, sending their travelling fans into jubilation.
The victory propelled Police FC to 64 points, placing them beyond reach of second-placed Gor Mahia, who sit on 58 points despite edging out Ulinzi Stars 3-2 in a spirited performance.
Even with one game to spare ironically against Gor Mahia next weekend, Police FC are now mathematically uncatchable.
The triumph ends Gor Mahia’s long-standing dominance in Kenyan football. K’Ogalo, the league’s most decorated club with 21 titles, will have to settle for second place this season.
Kakamega Homeboyz have surged to third after a narrow 1-0 win over Bidco United, intensifying the battle for CAF competition slots.
