Kenya Power announces blackout across multiple counties on Thursday, December 4

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across eight counties on Thursday, December 4.

In a notice on Wednesday, December 3, Kenya Power said the outages are meant to facilitate scheduled maintenance works.

In Nairobi County, the outage will affect parts of Nairobi North between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., covering Hombe Rd, Nairobi National Polytechnic, Den Bosco High Sch, Kipande Athumani Street, Mweni Rd, Racecourse Pri, Barakaat Hosp, Muratina Street, Jam Street, Ushirika Est and adjacent customers. 

In Nairobi South, the interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., affecting Tassia NGO and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Kwa Maiko, Marige and Miguta. 

The affected areas include Kanjai, Miguta, Kwa Ndonga, Nyaga Shops, Kiairia, Kiambururu, Kanjuku, Ndathini, Gakoe, Gathugu, Kigumo, Marige, Kibichoi Shops, Mount Moriah, Kwa Maiko Shops, Raiyani, Mitahato, Ngenia, Ngwee House, Mchana Est, Osho Mills, Oaklands Est, Nembu, Gateiguru, Nginduri, Kahuguini, Karembu, Kigaa, Ngenda, St. Monica Ndithiati, Kagera and adjacent customers. 

The county will also experience outages in Uthiru and Muthiga from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Uthiru S/Centre, Uthiru 87, Muthiga, Kinoo and adjacent customers.

In Kirinyaga County, Makutano and Rukanga will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The listed areas are Tebere Concrete, Atlantis, Galaxy Kaminji, Wachoro Boys Sec Sch, Makutano Town, Kaminji, CMI, Rukanga AP, Wanjuguma, Rukanga, Rukanga Dispensary, Kamweli, Kirwara, Viai, Iria Itune, Wakalia, Kikumiini, Kaseveni, Gitaraka and adjacent customers.

Kilifi County will also be affected, with parts of Sabaki scheduled for interruption between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

Kenya Power listed Mwembe Resort, Gongoni, Mjanaheri, San Marko, Gomeni, Angels Bay, Karibuni Villas, Marafa, Garashi, Wakala, Last Beach and adjacent customers as the impacted locations.

In Taita Taveta County, the whole of Maktau Town will experience a power outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including Godoma, Kwa Mnegwa, Lumo Conservancy and Hotels, and adjacent customers. 

Kakamega County is set for disruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Chimoi, affecting Kaburengu, Chimoi, Manda, Luandeti, Matutu, Mukhonje, Chekalini, Bishop Njenga Girls and adjacent customers.

Bomet County will have a longer outage window from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Dikirr, Mokondo and Kirindon. 

The listed areas include Esoit, Murkan, Kurangurik, Dikirr, Mambo Leo, Kapolecho, Mokondo, Simotwet, Kapweria, Tumda, Kiletien, Chemmamit, Kiriwet, Kapsinendet and adjacent customers. 

In Kericho County, Kapsoit Market will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Ernest Tea, Kapnandet, SPI, Keriwest, Ngejerok Water Pump and adjacent customers.
