Kenya Power has appointed Joy Brenda Masinde, a High Court Advocate, as the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
Masinde was appointed to the Board of Directors, along with six other directors, during the company’s Annual General Meeting on Friday, according to a statement released on Monday.
She takes over from Vivienne Yedawho quit after the Treasury opted not to support her re-election at the firm’s AGM.
Masinde served on the Council of the Law Society of Kenya, Nairobi Branch, prior to joining the High Court as an Advocate.
She graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Laws and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership at the International Leadership University.
Other newly appointed directors include Duncan Ojwang, Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning, Albert Mugo, Principle Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Logan Christi, and Veska Kingogo from the State Department of Energy.
