Kenya Railways has announced the resumption of the Nanyuki Safari Train, offering travelers a convenient travel option between Nairobi and Nanyuki.
In a notice on Wednesday, December 3, the agency said the train departs Nairobi at 9:00am every Friday, making stops in Makadara, Dandora, Mwiki, Githurai, Kahawa, Ruiru, Thika, Mitubiri, Makuyu, Maragua, Murang’a, Sagana, Karatina, Kiganjo, Naro Moru, and arrives in Nanyuki at 4:49pm.
The return journey starts in Nanyuki every Sunday at 9:00am, following the same route back to Nairobi, where it arrives at 4:46pm.
“The Nanyuki Safari makes a return trip to Nairobi every Sunday at 9.00a.m. Enjoy the scenic views of Kenya’s Central Region as it makes it was back to the capital,” the notice read.
Kenya Railways noted that the Nanyuki Safari Train has had a positive impact on communities along the route.
“The Nanyuki Safari Train has brought significant benefits to travelers along the route. It’s boosted local tourism, supported businesses, making it a vital part of the regional economy,” the notice added.
Kenya Railways added that the service reflects their broader commitment to strengthening transport networks in the country.
