Kenya Records 13 New Covid Cases

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 13 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 848 tested in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 9 of the cases are Kenyans, while 4 are foreigners. There are 6 female and 6 male, bringing the positivity rate to 1.5 percent.

The youngest is aged 7, and the oldest is 88.

Nairobi had 7 new cases, Trans Nzoia 3, Uasin Gishu 2, and Homa Bay 1 case.

Kenya now has 338,183 confirmed positive cases, with a total of 3,855,491 tests conducted.

The health CS, said 5 patients had recovered from the disease thanks to the Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.

“This pushes the total recoveries to 332,375 of whom 278,774 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,601 are from various health facilities countrywide,” he said in the statement.

Fortunately, no patients have died as a result of the disease, so the total number of fatalities remains at 5,674.

There are currently 23 patients admitted to various health facilities, and 111 are enrolled in the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

One patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is on ventilatory support while 2 others are on supplemental oxygen and are in the general ward.

According to the CS as of August 30th a total of 21,124,488 vaccines have been administered in the country.

The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 15,734.
