Kenya on Friday recorded 232 new Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 3,375 tested in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health Ministry, 185 of the cases are Kenyans, while 47 are foreigners. There are 121 females and 111 males, bringing the positivity rate to 6.9 percent.
The youngest is a one-year-old child, and the oldest is 92.
Nairobi had 66 new cases, Kiambu had 29, Kitui had 22, Nakuru had 15, Uasin Gishu had 12, Kajiado had 6, Kilifi had 6, Mombasa had 5, Siaya had 5, Embu had 3, Kericho had 2, Murang’a had 2, Busia had 1, and Kisumu had one.
Kenya now has 326,449 confirmed positive cases, with a total of 3,695,448 tests conducted.
The health CS, said 117 patients had recovered from the disease thanks to the Home-Based and Isolation Care Program.
“This pushes the total recoveries to 319,325 of whom 266,294 are from the Home-Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,031 are from various health facilities countrywide,” he said in the statement.
Fortunately, no patients have died as a result of the disease, so the total number of fatalities remains at 5,651.
There are currently 42 patients admitted to various health facilities, and 1,431 are enrolled in the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
There are no patients in the High Dependency Unit (HDU), but four are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with two on supplemental oxygen.
