Kenya, Rwanda suspend flights to China

Kenya and Rwanda have joined the long list of countries suspending their flights to Coronavirus hit China.

In a statement published to their social media pages, Kenya Airways indicated that it has suspended its daily flights to Guanzhou Province in China.

However, flights to Bankok, Thailand remain in service.

This has been due to consultations with the Ministry of Health and Foreign Affairs.

Rwandair, Rwanda’s national carrier also announced the suspension of their flights to Guangzhou province in China.

“RwandAir is to suspend flights with immediate effect between the Rwandan capital, Kigali, and the Chinese city of Guangzhou,” the airline said in a statement. “The decision will be reviewed later in February”.

The two join Ethiopian Airlines who also suspended their flights to China.

So far, Corona Virus has claimed 213 lives, with at least 9,692 people confirmed to have the infection.
