Kenya has taken a major step in strengthening its healthcare system with the rollout of expanded digital health solutions and community health initiatives in Uasin Gishu County.
Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale on Wednesday handed over 548 digital devices to 131 public health facilities across the county, marking a significant milestone in the government’s plan to modernise health service delivery.
The devices are expected to improve data management, enhance transparency, and ensure equitable access to care for all Kenyans.
Speaking during the handover, CS Duale said digitising health systems will help eliminate malpractice, promote accountability, and streamline service delivery. “This is a bold step toward ensuring that every Kenyan receives quality healthcare, free from inefficiencies and systemic impunity,” he stated.

As part of his tour, the CS held a sensitization meeting with Community Health Promoters (CHPs), acknowledging their crucial role in health education, disease prevention, and connecting families to essential services especially in remote areas.
He pledged continued government support to strengthen community health as a key pillar of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Duale further revealed that under the National Equipment Services Programme (NESP), Uasin Gishu will benefit from an upgrade in diagnostic and treatment technology.
Public facilities will gain access to CT scans, digital X-rays, mammograms, and other critical equipment under a fee-for-service model that eliminates upfront costs for counties.
