Kenya Signs Deal With US Film Studio To Improve Content

Ababu Namwamba, Cabinet Secretary for Youth, Arts, and Sports, has signed yet another agreement targeted at expanding Kenya’s film sector.

The new agreement between Kenya and Invention Studios CEO Nicky Weinstock will enable Hollywood film makers to lead the way in implementing the Talanta Hela vision.

“A day after our historic agreement with the NBA in New York to grow basketball, we are pleased to ink a groundbreaking deal in Los Angeles with Invention Studios CEO Nicky Weinstock for the Hollywood film maker to lead the way in our #TalantaHela #BETA agenda to power Kenya’s film industry,” he said on his X account.

Kenya struck an agreement with the NBA on Friday to offer basketball development programmes in the country.

Teachers will be trained as certified basketball coaches and scouts at the grassroots level.

The Sports Ministry and the NBA will build basketball courts in schools, villages, and neighbourhoods, as well as a competitive arena.
