Kenya is set to host the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship set to take place from 3-17 June 2023.
This is after Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed on Monday that Football Kenya Federation (FKF) were officially confirmed as the hosts of the junior Championship that will kick off in June.
“Kenya will host the first tournament on the 2023 Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) calendar.
Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed today that Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will host the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship to take place from June 3-17th, 2023,” a press statement from CECAFA read.
“We have two Member Associations that have applied to host four tournaments in 2023 and we shall communicate the hosts of the other three tournaments later,” added Gecheo.
Kenya, who last hosted a CECAFA tournament in 2021, have also applied to host the 2023 CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship scheduled for November 25th to December 9th.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have confirmed they will host the CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship and the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers for the CECAFA Zone.
Hosts for the Pan African Schools Championship CECAFA, CECAFA Kagame Cup and the CECAFA U-23 Championship will be announced later.
