The National Police Service (NPS) of Kenya announced on Sunday the launch of comprehensive sea, land, and air operations in Haiti as part of the Multinational Mission to Haiti (MSS).

The mission, led by the Kenya Police, aims to restore order by clearing roads and streets in the troubled Caribbean nation, facilitating the normal flow of people and vehicles.

The operations, targeting areas such as Delmas, Bel-Air, and Solino, are being conducted in collaboration with the Haiti National Police (HNP).

MSS has urged local gangs to surrender, warning that the operations will be thorough and persistent.

The mission’s efforts have been bolstered by additional vehicles and equipment provided by the United States, enhancing their capacity to pacify the region.

In a recent joint operation, MSS successfully ambushed gang members in Bel-Air and Solino, marking the largest offensive against criminal elements since the mission began three months ago.

Commander of the Kenya Police in Haiti, Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police Godfrey Otunge, emphasized the mission’s progress, including the recapture of critical infrastructure and reopening of key roads.

MSS continues to call on the Haitian people and authorities to support efforts to restore security and pave the way for free and fair elections.
