Kenyan Woman Caught Smuggling 3.4 Kgs Of Gold In India

A Kenyan woman, Sahra Mohamed, has been arrested on suspicion of smuggling 3.40 kilos of gold into Mumbai.

She was apprehended by the Customs Department’s Air Intelligence Unit near the exit gate of the Customs arrival baggage hall.

Mohamed, a Nairobi resident, was carrying a UK passport valid until 2032.

During an inspection of her luggage, 17 pieces of 22-carat melted gold bars and 21-carat jewelry were found. She had concealed gold within her clothes. She was also wearing gold on her body.

She will be held for 14 days as authorities investigate the smuggling racket.
