Kenyan Youngster Set To Be Loaned Out In Sweden

Former Tusker FC striker Henry Meja is set to be sent out on loan by top-tier club AIK according to grapevine doing rounds in Swedish football circles.

Meja, 21, has struggled to bag a permanent position in the team, appearing sparingly as a sub for the club last year.

The club however is eager to keep him in its books as he continues to develop and is in talks with various clubs in the Swedish second-tier over a possible loan move.

Norrby seems to be Meja’s next destination as the club has expressed strong interest to acquire the former Tusker talisman.

“He needs more time to develop and the club is considering loaning him out to a team in the second-tier where he will play regularly. All indications are that he is headed to Norrby,” a reliable source told Mozzart Sport.

Meja who rose to the ranks of Western Kenya talent hub Green Commandoes, lit up the Cleo Malala Cup in 2018 and 2019 before being acquired by Tusker. He won the FKFPL Young Player of the Year Award in 2021 before moving to Sweden to join AIK.

Another Kenyan youngster Frank Odhiambo, formerly at Gor Mahia, was also loaned out by Djurgardens to Swedish third-tier side IFK Haninge last year.
