Despite a court injunction, applications for the job of Chief Administrative Secretary are still being accepted.

Those interested have until the 27th of this month to submit their applications for consideration, according to the Public Service Commission.

After holding public participation that ended on October 6, 2022, the Commission established its position in public service.

The Commission will shortlist and interview individuals before recommending names to the President for consideration for appointment.

According to the commission, a CAS’s tasks will include communication with the National Assembly and the Senate, as well as liaison with county governments on subjects of mutual concern.

Simultaneously, they will provide inter-ministerial coordination, represent the Cabinet Secretary at any meetings, and carry out any other prescribed activities.

The job, which was created by previous President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 but was found unconstitutional by the courts, allows the President to reward his allies who did not make it as Cabinet Secretaries or Principal Secretaries.
