Kenyans loot ‘unga’ after truck overturns on Eldoret-Kitale Highway

Members of the public on Wednesday looted maize flour from a truck that veered off the Eldoret–Kitale highway near Bahraini Centre in Eldoret.

A video that captured the incident showed the crowd scrambling for bales of unga, with some individuals arriving on boda bodas to cart away the looted goods.

This is not unlike what Kenyans are used to during such spills, with similar occurrences being reported whenever a similar spill happens.

Just two weeks ago, Kenyans were captured on camera looting cement from another overturned lorry at Sagana Bridge in Kirinyaga County.

In images shared, some of the Kenyans were even captured standing atop the overturned vehicle, snatching the coveted commodity still stuck inside.

Others snatched the bags spread on the highway, as others also used motorbikes in this scene as well, to ferry the heavy bags.
