
The death toll resulting from COVID-19 complications has hit 1,801 after four people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 Hours. – By Gerald Gekara.
Confirming the statistic, the Ministry of Health further announced that 144 people tested positive for COVID-19 out of a sample size of 2,917, raising the total confirmed infections to 103,332.
119 are Kenyans while 25 are foreigners while 102 are males and 42 are females.
The youngest is a nine-year-old child and the oldest is 79.
The positive cases were distributed across various counties; Nairobi (73), Busia (17), Mombasa (14), Kiambu (8), Machakos (6). Kericho (6), Kajiado (4), Meru (4), Homa Bay (2), Kisumu (2), Kitui (2), Murang’a (2), Kilifi (1), Kisii (1), Migori (1) and Siaya (1)

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, in the same statement confirmed that 55 patients recovered from COVID-19, 29 of whom were discharged from various health facilities while 26 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care, taking total recoveries to 85,391.
Total number of hospital admitions continue to decline, as the ministry reported 267 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide.
1,187 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
43 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit, 20 of whom are on ventilatory support & 18 on supplemental oxygen. 5 patients are on observation.
Another 5 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in the general wards.
