Kenya’s Doris Lemngole claimed victory in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the Lausanne Diamond League, marking a stunning debut on the global stage.
The 19-year-old crossed the line in 9:16.36, finishing nearly four seconds ahead of her rivals despite heavy rain. The win reinforced Kenya’s long-standing dominance in the steeplechase and signaled Lemngole’s arrival as one of the country’s brightest young talents.
Lemngole, who recently transitioned from collegiate athletics in the United States, now turns her focus to the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, where she is expected to be among Kenya’s key medal hopefuls.
