The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, today joined regional stakeholders at the East Africa Humanitarian Summit in Nairobi, where leaders, humanitarian agencies, and development partners gathered to chart solutions for building stronger and more resilient systems in the face of recurring crises.
In her address, Ms. Muthoni underscored the importance of partnerships in safeguarding lives and protecting vulnerable communities during emergencies.
She noted that Kenya has increasingly turned to collaboration with the private sector to expand access to essential services, address resource gaps, and improve the overall health and well-being of families across the country.
“No one should be left behind when crises strike,” she said, stressing that collective action is critical to ensuring that communities remain safe, healthy, and resilient despite the challenges posed by natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and humanitarian shocks.
The summit provided a platform for regional actors to strengthen cooperation, share best practices, and commit to joint strategies aimed at enhancing preparedness and response across East Africa.
