Kenyatta National Hospital staff have announced a 7-day strike notice over delayed salaries.
In a statement signed by KUDHEIHA Workers Secretary General Albert Obed, the staff gave KNH 7 days to pay salaries.
“In the event that the management will not have paid all the workers their May 2023 salaries by 6 June 2023, all the workers will have no choice but to down their tools.”
The strike is set to begin om Wednesday, 7th June, 2023.
Hospital workers have joined a growing list of public servants whose salaries have been delayed.
On May 1, 2023, President William Ruto’s government attributed the delays to pending loan payments and its quest not to borrow money to pay salaries.
As a result, several workers unions have taken to the streets to demand for salary payments, with the latest being Nairobi City County Workers.
