Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) plans to dispose of 253 unclaimed dead, including 239 children.
There are 132 boys and 107 girls among the youngsters whose bodies have been lying at the facility.
There are five sets of twins and one set of quadruplets among the offspring. The body of a fourth quadruplet is also in the mortuary.
KNH encouraged the public to identify the unidentified bodies in a notice published in local newspapers.
The hospital established a 14-day deadline beyond which it will seek judicial permission to dispose of the bodies.
“Pursuant to Public Health Act Cap 242, interested members of the public are therefore requested to identify and collect bodies withing 14 days,”Â
