Kenyatta Under Siege As Looters Burn Northlands

A huge fire burned down a section of the multi-billion Northlands Farm.

The farm in Ruiru sub-county is associated to the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The 17-second video captured in the nighttime hours shows fire blazing at the farm which had been intruded on throughout the day.

There has been no official statement.

Almost 100 armed intruders raided the Northlands farm along the Eastern Bypass on March 27.

They cut down trees using power saws and stole an unknown number of livestock before setting fire to a section of the farm.

The attack’s motivation has yet to be determined.

Northlands City, an 11,000-acre farm, was supposed to be a real estate nirvana with low and high-income residential sections, an agricultural zone, an industrial zone, and schools.

The grandiose project is expected to cost up to Sh500 billion and have a population of at least 250,000 people.

Journalists on the scene were forced to capture the invasion in secrecy after being threatened by machete-wielding attackers.

The intruders, who were mostly men, stole sheep. Some carried the sheep on their backs, while others loaded them into waiting cars. Looting took place along the busy highway.
