Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has commended Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya for the successful completion and opening of a Ksh500 million one-stop County Headquarters office complex in Kitale.
In a statement shared on social media on Friday, July 25, 2025, Khalwale praised Natembeya for what he described as a landmark achievement that reflects the efficient use of public resources.
He clarified that his remarks were not political but a genuine acknowledgement of effective governance.
“I honestly want to congratulate George Natembeya for the completion and opening of this Ksh500 million landmark, the one-stop office Trans Nzoia County Headquarters,” he said.
He drew comparisons between Trans Nzoia and Kakamega, pointing out that despite Kakamega County having a larger annual budget of Ksh18.2 billion, compared to Trans Nzoia’s Ksh9.1 billion, a similar project initiated by Governor Fernandes Barasa in 2023 has stalled.
“Mine is not a political statement but an acknowledgement of effort. The parallel in Kakamega, where a similar project started by Barasa Fernandez in 2023, has stalled!” he said.
Speaking when he launched the office on July 23, 2025, Natembeya stated that the facility will bring together all the departments, enabling seamless coordination, faster service and greater accessibility for the residents in the devolved unit.
“I am delighted to officially announce our relocation to the new county offices in Trans Nzoia, a milestone in our continued journey to enhance public service delivery. It is more than just a change of address; it is a bold step toward a more efficient, transparent, and responsive county government,” he stated.
He assured the residents of Trans Nzoia that his administration will deliver on the pledges he made with integrity and excellence.
“My team and I remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver results with integrity and excellence. This move reflects a shared vision, one where governance meets the real needs of our citizens and development is felt in every corner of our county, he stated.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to the clergy, local leaders, and residents who have supported this transition and made it smooth and successful. Your goodwill continues to inspire our work. Together, let’s build a more connected, forward-looking Trans Nzoia,” he added.
