The rumoured secret pact between Musalia Mudavadi and William Ruto will not be without orphans like UDA’s diehard supporter Dr Boni Khalwale.
The abrupt shift came after Ruto publicly invited Musalia Mudavadi for a coalition pact after he was deposed from representing Luhya interests.
Among his biggest guns, is Senator Cleophas Malala. A spirited western ‘bull’ after the Kakamega gubernatorial seat, a seat being sought after by Dr Khalwale.
Camps loyal to the duo have been involved in physical altercations over the Kakamega race.
Should the partnership sail through and Mudavadi campaigns for Ruto, a Ngirici-Waiguru scenario will play out between the two.
Waiguru’s decision to support William Ruto was not welcome by Ngirici, who had poured resources to secure a direct ticket to Kirinyaga. This was not to be.
After realising Waiguru could clinch a direct nomination, the loaded Ngirici withdrew her UDA affiliation and is now out to secure the seat on an independent ticket. With the strategic help of Azimio Raila.
Therefore the former senator could be on the brink of extinction if Cleophas Malala, who is fast gaining grip in Kakamega, moves into the hustler camp.
Boni Khalwale was once a fierce critic of DP William Ruto, during his heydays in parliament.
