Senate Majority Whip Boni Khalwale has called on President William Ruto and Raila Odinga to embrace inclusivity by engaging Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in national discussions. He warned that sidelining Gachagua could create a sense of exclusion and fuel political divisions.

Speaking in Lugari on March 30, Khalwale emphasized that unity requires open dialogue. “If you truly want to unite the country, Mr. President, sit down with Rigathi and listen to his concerns,” he urged. He noted that engaging all leaders would strengthen the government’s commitment to inclusivity.

The senator, a member of the UDA party, dismissed claims that certain communities were being sidelined. He insisted that all Kenyans, including Kikuyus, Luhyas, Luos, and Kalenjins, deserve equal representation in national affairs.

Khalwale also condemned police interference in Gachagua’s recent meetings in Kajiado and Naivasha, saying such actions only deepen political divisions. “Deploying police to disrupt public gatherings is not the way to handle political differences,” he remarked.

His comments come as President Ruto prepares to tour the Mount Kenya region, where political tensions have been rising. Khalwale urged leaders to focus on unity and national development rather than division.
