Kiambu: Detectives Recover Kenya Power Equipment Worth Sh 11M In Scrap Metal Yard

Detectives based in Kiambu County recovered Sh11 million worth of Kenya Power equipment that was believed to have been vandalised.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the recovery was made last night following a raid at a scrap metal yard in Denderu.

“Transformer fuses, pilon bindings, transformer laminations, transformer shells, high tension cables among other equipment vandalized from power lines were among the recovered items,” the DCI said.

One Florence Kariuki, 30, was arrested during the raid as the yard’s owner, identified as one Patrick King’ori, is said to have gone missing.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched on King’ori who has since gone into hiding.
