Embattled Kiambu governor has been impeached.
In a controversial vote held in the Kiambu County Assembly, 63 Members of the assemblies voted to oust the governor, who is facing corruption charges in court.
However, 28 members of the assembly were absent during the vote, setting the stage for a heated debate in the coming days concerning the impeachment motion.
Deputy Governor James Nyoro is poised to become the deputy Governor. He is expected to choose his deputy, who will assist him in running the rest of the term in office.
